Welcome to
Magic Valley Bible Church

Built on God's Word

Here at Magic Valley Bible Church (MVBC), our motto is "Built on God's Word," which means that every aspect of our lives ought to be grounded on the truth found in Scripture. This principle comes from 2 Timothy 3:16–17: "All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be equipped, having been thoroughly equipped for every good work."

We believe that Scripture is our sole authority on all things pertaining to life and godliness, and we desire to live in a God-glorifying manner, which is a Christians primary focus (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Gospel-Centered

At the heart of the Christian life is the truth of the gospel, that is, that we are born as sinners into a fallen and sinful world (Romans 3:10, 23), and God, in His grace, provides salvation to all who believe (John 3:16). This is the core of our message here at MVBC: God is holy (Isaiah 6:1–3), we are sinners (Romans 3:23), Christ provides the way of salvation (John 14:6), and our response should be worship to God and obedience to His Word (Romans 12:1–2; 1 Peter 1:15–16).

The gospel message penetrates every aspect of the ministry of MVBC, from the preaching on Sunday mornings to the fellowship of the body throughout the week. The entirety of who we are as believers is based on the beautiful truth of the gospel.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life."

John 3:16

Verse-by-Verse Exposition

Since the Bible is the authoritative Word of God that provides application into all things (2 Timothy 3:16–17), we believe that the entire Bible ought to be taught. Just as Jesus explained Scripture to the disciples on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:13–27), we believe that the teaching of Scripture should be focused on an explanation of what the authors wrote.

Practical Fellowship

Throughout the New Testament, Scripture commands believers within the church to practically serve and love one another (John 13:34; Romans 12:10; Ephesians 4:32). In so doing, believers are demonstrating Christ's love to each other, and thus giving glory to God. Additionally, by practically serving one another, those within the church are exercising their God-given gifts, as the Bible has commanded them (1 Corinthians 14:12).

Here at MVBC, we believe that fellowship is a vital part of the church body, and that serving the church is not only a wonderful demonstration of love, but it is also an evidence of spiritual fruit in the believer's life.
